BioShield Casein Paint is a dry powder that you mix with clean water. It forms an off-white paint and a base suitable for the tint you desire using our BioShield Pigment Colors. Our Casein Milk Paint works great on gypsum board, plaster, wood and wooden furniture. It mixes easily regardless of quantity, but we do recommend that you use a paint mixer attached to your electric drill to achieve the desired consistancy.

Specificatons: For best results gypsum board joints, spackle, and variably absorbent wall surfaces, prime with BioShield Solvent-Free Wall Paint #180 before applying this paint. The ambient temperature should be 50°F or above.

Just combine our Casein Pastels with water, and you’ve got a pastel milk paint in a great shade that’s ready to apply! Amazingly versatile, they can be used on walls, furniture, and trim. They are also an excellent choice for decorative techniques like washes, stenciling, and sponging. Casein Pastels are a no-odor, zero-VOC product with an unlimited shelf life if kept in powder form.
Specifications: Estimate as closely as possible the quantity of product necessary to complete the project, and use all that has been mixed during your work day to prevent spoilage and color variation.To create a lighter color than our stock colors, simply blend the color of your choice with a carefully measured amount of our High White #100 powder, or just add the pastel base to our Basic Milk Paint #10. To add depth, dimension, and protection to your Casein Pastel finish, consider top-coating it with our Wall Glaze #15, Hard Wax #32,or Aqua Resin Stain Finish #33.
Application Range: Use these colors on walls, furniture, trim and while applying techniques such as stenciling, washing and sponging.
Technical Information: The paint powder is water soluble and easily can be mixed by hand (cake beater or "magic wand") in container; for larger batches we recommend using an electric drill with a paddle mixer. All pastels can be intermixed. For lighter colors, they also may be added to BioShield Casein White Base #10 or BioShield Casein High White #100.
Method of Application: Casein Pastels can be applied by all conventional methods including brush, roller, sponge, and rag. The minimum recommended room temperature is 50°F (10°C). Priming is recommended over gypsum surfaces and drywall compounds containing gypsum. In special cases, use BioShield Solvent-Free Wall Paint #18 or White Undercoater #66 for priming purposes.
Ingredients: Casein Milk Solids, Lime, Clay, Cellulose, Asbestos-Free Talcum, Salt (Sodium Phosphate), and BioShield Pigments.
Coverage: Depending on surface characteristics and application method, Casein Pastels will cover approximately 30-45 square feet per 400 grams.
Note: Always mix enough Casein Paint for what you intend to use, and use up what you have mixed. Colors can be enhanced and deepened by coating with #15 Wall Glaze or Floor and Furniture Hard Wax #32.
